About Me

I make cakes. As I am baking and decorating away, I'm listening to music. I know everyone likes music but since I spend so much time alone, it truly accompanies me, like a quiet friend offering advice and encouragement. Last week, while searching for new music to download, I came across Journey's Greatest Hits - the soundtrack of my high school years, specifically sophomore year and my first puppy love. I downloaded and then sang while I decorated, at the top of my lungs, joyful and smiling with the remembered words and times. It got me through the hump of my busiest week ever (5 wedding cakes!- see above). It started me thinking about how music can inspire food - the recipes, preparation and enjoyment of it. And then I thought of Journey and Abba and Dusty Springfield and the rest of the music I like to listen to when I work, that may or may not be the type of music you would listen to in front of other people and sing along. In fact, there's not many of us that sing along in front of other people. So I thought, I'd like to share my inspirations for food and music and food that's inspired by music and vice versa. And hence, the theme of this particular foodie blog was born. We'll see where it goes!
